Making Tough Decisions
There are a few reasons why some caregivers either delay or refuse all immunizations for their children. One of those reasons is due to the uncertainty about the safety of the vaccine. Another reason may be due to caregivers not being convinced of the benefits of the vaccination according to (Benninghoff et al., 2019). A third reason is due to poor access to medical care to get their children vaccinated. As the first reason is usually followed up by the second reason, many caregivers who are either delaying or refusing of immunizations for their children gravitate to the first two reasons. Another reason given from some reluctant caregivers, fear for the child to develop autism or some other type of cognitive delay. Another reason given is the non-severity of what is considered to be “childhood” disease according to (Fournet et al., 2018). With the many different reasons for the delay or the refusal of all immunizations for their children, caregivers are inadvertently placing their children at risk to not only suffer from these preventable diseases, but to also suffer long-term effects from them, such as polo disease.

By educating caregivers and separating facts from misinformation, should at least make it easier to make an inform decision for on vaccinating their children. I would do my best to resolve any issues and answer any questions or concerns regarding vaccinations for the caregiver........... Document Continue
