A well-known and frequently discussed mental condition in adults, panic disorder (PD)can impede social and occupational functioning and produce clinically substantial distress. It is distinguished by a brief period of extreme fear and discomfort that begins suddenly, peaks in 10minutes or less, and is accompanied by various physical and cognitive symptoms. Seldom are prepubescent children and early adolescents diagnosed with PD, however 18% of adult patients with PD recall PA that started before the age of 10. Prepubescent instances are probably misdiagnosed more often than not, and/or they may present clinically differently from adults. The social and intellectual growth of those who are not aware of these affected issues might suffer severely.

In order to better understand PD in children and adolescents, this study will examine clinical research in that area. There are descriptions of prevalence, specificity of clinical characteristics, comorbidity, and diagnostic tools. There are suggestions for pharmaceutical, psychological, and educational management of PD in kids and teens. We cover the prevalence, clinical traits, risk factors, coexisting conditions, differential diagnosis, and management of PD.
