EG is 22 y/o female present with headache and nausea started unilateral from left temporal, radiate to the whole head that has been going on for the past 30 hrs which is unrelieved even with taking Tylenols q4 to q6. But it alleviates when laying down a quiet and dark environment. The patient reported pain 8 out of 10 and throbbing, which comes with photophobia and phonophobia and current headache for the past 4 to 6 weeks. Past medical history chicken pox and mono. EG takes birth control. Family history mother and sister have same headache.
During assessment patient Bp is 124/82 and heart rate 80, with no fever. EG is alert and oriented x 4, equal bilaterally extremities. Intact cranial nerve II to XII, EG reported an increase of stress due to school and relationship which influence her sleep cycle. EG denies chest pain, seizure, SOB, or visual disturbance.
