What technology do you find most beneficial to use in your work or school setting? Least beneficial? Why do you find this tool useful or not? Then, using your imagination, look to the future and think about how this tool could be enhanced even further. Describe your dream technology, with consideration for patient care and safety.

The discussion for this week focuses on looking into the present and future of technology. In addition to answering the discussion question please answer the following in your initial post.

Think about some of the technology-based teaching methods used in your education to date. What is your favorite and why? How does it help to enhance learning, and if it doesn’t, why not? How can it be improved?

Explore and discuss technology-based approaches to consumer health education. What works well? What does not?
Joey is a 14-year-old who was just diagnosed with diabetes. Joey has never been in the hospital before and is scared. He has lots of questions but is scared to ask. He is getting a lot of information but is having a hard time remembering everything. Consider Joey's age and brainstorm two ways that you might educate Joey about diabetes.
Now, consider a patient newly diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 75. Would you consider a different alternative for educating this patient? Why or why not?
