The purpose of this paper is to create a leadership approach to address patient falls in the geriatric unit of my healthcare organization. This paper reviews my approach to interprofessional collaboration in the project team, communication comportment, and leadership ethics.

Interprofessional Collaboration in Leading Project Teams

 

According to Sims, Hewitt, and Harris (2015), mutual respect is the foundation for ethical and human behavior; it underpins enabling relationships. A Lack of mutual respect, especially in inter-professional care teams, damages the relationship between members and thus gets in the way of the team. Lack of mutual respect can result in unethical or illegal behavior in care teams, such as harassment and bullying. Mutual respect is based on shared beliefs and values. To promote mutual respect, I will encourage team members to recognize and understand each other's differences, celebrate the diversity in the team, and value each member’s contribution, while still capitalizing on the common ground. The team will have zero tolerance for disrespect. Team members should be left to work in manners they are comfortable with. I will also lead from the front by modeling good manners and the behavior I want to see. I will also lead the team into taking a positive stance toward showing everyone respect…….. Continue
