Week 1: Initial AONL Nurse Executive Competency Self-Assessment
Purpose
This assignment provides the student with an opportunity to assess his or her level of nurse executive competency in numerous areas at the beginning of the course. The student will complete a postcourse assessment to compare to the precourse assessment to evaluate areas of growth and needs for further development.
Description of the Assignment
This assignment is a self-assessment of the student's perceived level of competency in areas of leadership deemed important by the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).
Criteria for Content
Complete the initial assessment during Week 1; submit it on Sunday of Week 1 by 11:59 p.m. MT.
Criteria for Format and Special Instructions
- Complete the initial assessment (left-hand side) of the AONE Self-Assessment of Professional Competencies document located above, indicating your perceived level of competency for each area.
- Submit your fully completed initial assessment by Sunday, 11:59 p.m. MT at the end of Week 1.
