The prevalence, negative impact on quality of life, and societal and economic repercussions of diabetes mellitus make it one of the most severe chronic conditions worldwide. It's a long-term metabolic disorder with a wide variety of causes and a convoluted pathophysiology (Deshpande et al (2005). Hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar, occurs as a result of abnormalities in insulin secretion, action, or both. Different metabolic dysfunctions involving carbs, lipids, and proteins contribute to the wide range of hyperglycemic symptoms. Among the many diabetes-related deaths, vascular problems are the most common effect of long-term hyperglycemia. Type 1 and type 2 diabetes are the two most common types of the disease. Both types of diabetes result from inefficient insulin usage; type 1 is caused by an inadequate supply of insulin, whereas type 2 is caused by an excess. Gestational, infantile, and adult-onset types of Diabetes are far less prevalent. Gestational affects pregnant mothers and interferes with insulin production in newborns.
