Upon completion of the week 6 iHuman case study it was determined
that my strengths based upon the iHuman performance overview was the
history gathering, as well as the physical exam portions, scoring a 91%
and 100% respectively. I was able to gather sufficient data, however
when composing my differential diagnosis, I missed 3 possible
diagnoses related to the patient’s complaints. I was able to identify
nephrolithiasis, as well as acute pyelonephritis. I did not include
appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy, as well as acute pancreatitis. I felt that
the symptoms the patient was describing, pointed towards an acute
pyelonephritis, which was my leading diagnosis, however not
considering the other missed differentials could have led to a negative
patient outcome as all of the other conditions are a must not miss
diagnosis, as they can lead to serious harm or even death………..
