My assigned topics for this week are post concussive syndrome and traumatic brain injury.
Presentation
Presentation | Patients with a migraine generally complain about severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation that is usually unilateral. Symptoms associated with a migraine are nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound (Schub & Parks-Chapman, 2018).
| Patients with post-concussive syndrome present 3-10 days after a traumatic brain injury with symptoms of headache, fatigue, vertigo, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, vision disturbances, and abnormal sleep patterns. Additional symptoms of difficulty concentrating, attention, and memory are seen as well. In some instances, emotional instability and anxiety are present (March & Karakashian, 2018). |
