o This week, you have an 18-year-old male who is known to be an injection-drug user. He presents with high fever and rash, and is found to have a loud systolic murmur, splinter hemorrhages, and Janeway lesions. His echocardiogram shows a mitral-valve vegetation; his blood cultures grow methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
