NR576-Differential Diagnosis in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care

 

 

Over the course of the last 8 weeks, I was able to incrementally improve on core competencies that the AGNP program has set to achieve by completion of course and clinical criteria. The care provided in clinical situations adhered to the three core categories: MSN Program Outcome, MSN Essential, and Nurse Practitioner Core Competency. Within these categories one specific example will be detailed and how it better prepared me to meet the course outcome. Overall, course work such as iHuman, SNAPPS presentation/discussion, course reading, clinical practice guidelines (CPG), virtual interactive student evaluation (VISE), quizzes and exams provided a great depth of knowledge which I was able to incorporate into my clinical practice.

Creating a caring environment for achieving quality health outcomes is the selected MSN Program Outcome. Maintaining a safe environment for patients to discuss problems and concerns is vital to allow for health transparency between provider and patient. My clinical site was able to facilitate this environment due to the smaller nature of the practice. My preceptor was the only practitioner within the practice, as well as only one medical assistant and one front office employee.................. Continue
