During the virtual case study, I felt that I was sufficient in the interview process, gaining the history needed to help direct me to an appropriate diagnosis. When coming up with differential diagnosis, I was able to think of at least three related diseases that fit the presentation of the history, as well as my physical exam findings. However, in hindsight I missed two applicable diagnoses to the case, which were bullous insect bites and hot tub folliculitis. Making differential diagnosis, is a key part of making the correct diagnosis. Having these possibilities in mind will help enable appropriate testing to rule out these possibilities and help to confirm a final diagnosis (CMPA, 2021).................. Continue
