Learning in this course has certainly assisted me in being able to achieve Program Outcome 2: Create a caring environment for achieving quality health outcomes (Care-Focused). It was clear that the primary focus of this course was to cultivate a general sense of the primary care clinic setting, as well as to learn how to navigate resources to create differential diagnoses for various patient populations and presentations. I was able to utilize many of the topics discussed within the course in the clinic setting and felt a sense of accomplishment after each clinical day. It is evident that a clinical environment is only able to provide quality health outcomes with the diligent and caring initiation of the advanced practice provider. The advanced practice provider does this by utilizing recent clinical practice guidelines, personal experience, and knowledge. After completing my first practicum course, the necessity of completing 125 patient contact hours for each course is more apparent to me. The amount of valuable knowledge and experience that each of these hours provides is paramount to the development of the advanced practice provider……….. Continue
