In this week’s iHuman, I need to improve my performance in gathering client information more specifically in physical examination. I only focused on checking the abdomen because the patient was complaining of epigastric pain, but I completely forgot to incorporate the fatigue portion of the exam. According to Asif (2017), Poor physical exam can be a threat to patient safety and can lead to missed diagnosis which can cause a delay in life-saving treatment. This is very important since I missed the fatigue part of the physical assessment. I need to take all the patient’s symptoms into consideration and think about how each symptom can play its role in the disease process.
