I chose to look at the IHI Triple Aim website and found quite a few interesting facts. The idea for the Triple Aim was developed back in 2006 with the idea that there were three components of healthcare- the experience of care, the health of the population, and the per capita cost. The focus on the health of the population applies to what we have learned in the first four modules as this component looks at the why of illness and not on taking care of the illness once present with the idea that healthcare is a repair shop (IHI, 2019).
