Being a Registered Nurse working in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit as well as having experience in floating in other units around the hospital, I have experienced several situations in which I felt underprepared, unprepared, and uncomfortable. One particular experience that resonated with me was my first experience with a patient expiration. It was not too long since my orientation was over and I was still getting adjusted to working alone, and everything made me nervous since I no longer had my preceptor there to guide me.
