This week we had SIM lab at school. The simulation was a multi patient simulation where each were admitted to the unit for two different situations. The first one was Janet Martin who came in from the ED who complained of having fever and chills and coughing. She also had decreased appetite and productive green cough and fatigue. She was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and had an open wound on her left great toe that turned out to have MRSA. The other patient was Margaret Stanton who was admitted due to scheduled surgery for Mitral valve prolapse. She ended up becoming confused in the simulation and had eaten something beforehand which essentially postponed her surgery to the next day......... Continue
