A little more focus—the Week 2 quiz covers Week 1 & 2 material. These are the concepts that you want to review before you take the Week 2 Quiz. Don’t forget to practice by working through the Knewton Review Center before you take the quiz.
1. Identify and describe the steps in the statistical analysis process.
2. Determine whether a study is observational or an experiment and appropriate use cases. Remember, if there is no control of the sample…it is observational. With an experiment, you would need a control and an experimental sample.
3. Identify components of the experimental design in a given experiment: Use of a control group, use of a placebo, and blinding.
4. Identify explanatory and response variables in an experiment. The explanatory variable is the independent variable and the response variable is the dependent variable.
