Problem Statement:
Dorothy Jones is a 54 year old female who presents with chief complaint of abdomen pain starting 3 days ago that has gotten worse. Pain is described in the middle of the abdomen around the umbilical area. Positive for emesis, last bowel movement 2 days ago and patient is unable to pass gas. Physical exam reveals visual abdomen distention and moderate tympanic to percussion with mild discomfort with palpation.
