Problem Statement:
A.W. is a 23-year-old female who presents to the clinic with a sore throat and a fever that began two days ago. She describes her sore throat as an "ice pick" in her throat and rates her pain an 11/10. She reported a sick contact earlier in the week and is not up to date with her flu vaccine. Her physical exam reveals that her tonsils are slightly enlarged, prominent exudates bilaterally, and erythematous posterior, with halitosis present. She also has tender bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy; the nodes are rubbery, mobile, and 1.5 cm. Her lung exam is clear from adventitious sounds.
