Abstract

C. Perfringens, or the scientific name Clostridium Perfringens, are bacteria that cause food poisoning. Most people get food poison from eating contaminated food. Clostridium perfringens is the second or third cause of reported foodborne disease outbreaks, and most of the outbreaks occur in collective restaurants. C. Perfringens are found in different types of meat, the environment, and in the intestines of animals. This infection is affirmed when a lab test identifies the bacteria in a stool sample. The article I chose by NCBI talks about the outbreak of C. Perfringens food poisoning that is linked to cheese sauce.
